Suppose the k + 1 points $ {\displaystyle u_{0},\dots ,u_{k}\in \mathbb {R} ^{k}} $are affinely independent, which means $ u_{1}-u_{0},\dots ,u_{k}-u_{0}$ are linearly independent. Then, the simplex determined by them is the set of points

간단히는, k-simplex라 하면 k차원의 삼각형이다. 2-simplex는 그냥 삼각형, 3차원이라면 사면체, 4차원이라면 5-cell등이 된다.<br>
